Set One: "Just Before the Flogging"

They began the shoot recreating the first part of the movie almost as it was done when they worked in it before. I say almost because although they recreated all the elements they had back then, the experience itself was a new one for both.

In this first set Jane waits for the whip.

Set Two: "The Floggin Begins"

The second set shows the first markings of the whip and how the garment that covers Jane's body is whipped off her body. Jane is facing the post during this session.

Set Three: "Before the Whip Rips the Cloth"

Jane is turned around to face her torturer and the whip falls on her torso, legs, belly, arms ... Slowly, her body is being exposed.

Set Four: "Topless"

Jane's top is exposed. The bloody marks of the whip cover her instead. She suffers still.

Set Five: "After the Lashing"

After hundreds of lashes, she's taken down. (It was at this point during the filming of the movie that Jane said "I think I'm going to faint" and she just went down. We stopped filming.) It was at this point that JJ started shooting the second part of the movie while taking photographs.

Set Six: "Facing the Post"

In this set Jane is tied to the cross beam, her arms spread apart, held by her wrists. In the movie the rest of her rag is whipped away. In the pictures, she's naked, marked by the whip and a stick behind her knees forces her body to be pressed against the post. She suffres more of the whip.

Set Seven: "To the Cross"

Jane is released from the post, still tied to the crossbeam. She can walk away from the post a bit, the rope keeps her from moving farther. She tries to avoid the long reach of the whip. She can't.

Set Eight: "Tied Down to the Cross"

In the first of the many variations in a crucifixion, Jane's ankles are tied to the sides of the post. She's whipped until she can't hold her body up any more. She slides down, her legs open wide, exposing her more and that's where she ends, at the bottom of the post, hanging from her cross.
