Camille's reaction was inviting me to get closer to her, to touch her more. I reached for her face to force her to raise her head, to get a better look of her suffering face. If we had been shooting the movie, I would've made a number of takes of this same action, but we were not. I only needed to see how she was doing. She couldn't see me but she could sense me.

After taking a good look at her I pushed her head back. In the film the victim receives a mark on her forehead. I was going to put a mark on Camille, but it wasn't like in the film. In the film the psycho cuts a cross into his victim's forehead. It's his mark. There's a character in the film, who is seen in a "vision", who receives the same mark on her forehead after she's cut a number of times just before her neck is slashed from ear to ear. That character will be played by MaRe.

I hit Camille's side while holding her head back. She reacted slowly, moaning softly. The session was only half way there. I had more in mind before it was over. She was doing well, so the question was, would I do well directing her for real?
